We know you’ve been waiting for more of these! Come on, at least pretend like it. So, this week, we have the wonderful Siaira Shawn discussing some of her signature style with us. (Ok, so try not to just get stuck staring, K. There are words below.)
How would you describe your signature style?
“I would say I love to mix menswear pieces, with showing a little skin. The casual looks with semi-fancy stuff.”
“I also love patterns and print shirts.”
I think my hair and tattoos are my constant accessories.”
At Khafra Company, we want to dress our clients for every second of every day - for work or play. How do you decide what you’re wearing during the week?
“I always want to be cute, but comfortable. I work at a school during the week and there’s a slight dress code; I always have to consider that. On the weekends I can have more fun and be more naked. :-) I also perform, so depending on the show and the venue, I’ll dress it up for that and get more fancy.”
“I also have to consider the weather living in NY. It’s a state with real seasons.”
”This spring has been up and down, so I always check the weather before I go outside. I also ride my bike so that determines fits too.”
At Khafra Company, we take style super seriously. What items in your wardrobe can you absolutely not live without? Why? What makes them so special?
“Definitely always need a necklace; I have a really cool small globe that my grandma gave me ages ago. The continents are different types of stones, its my favorite and it always ends up on different chains and joined with other pieces.”
“I also, have these Zara fitted black sweatpants I just love. The crotch is very slightly dropped and there’s really subtle, but cool stitching at the knees. They are comfy and I can dress them up and down. Lastly, I just got these awesome black leather sneakers by Vagabond. I have really really flat feet, so I’m always on the lookout for comfort and style and these give me both."
What 3 things are you most looking forward to adding to your wardrobe this season?
“Dresses, joggers, and more shoes!”
At Khafra Company, we think that all of our clients and customers are slightly-more-than-fierce. What does that mean to you?
I think it means doing you. Letting your style be one of the things that reflects who you are and what you do. And having fun with it!
